the blog

deebibliophilia was the solution for book recommendations. Considering I read, on average, 2+ books a week, I am constantly carrying around new books. Conversations usually include what my book 'du jour' is about and what I recommend. How could I possibly choose favourites when I can't even remember what I read last month? As a wannabe-photographer, books became the perfect subject - they don't move, and they don't talk back. Then there's the coffee addition and exploration for new cafes around Vancouver. Combine all three and you get 'deebibliophilia'. My bookstagram was established in 2016 and quickly became my favourite hobby. It's the perfect excuse to drag my friends to new coffee shops and force them into a photoshoot. The best part of bookstagram and blogging is discovering that people are falling in love with reading again, especially those that haven't read since it was mandatory in highschool. I attempt to read the best (and worst) books in many genres in the hope that I will find the most captivating, unputdownable reads for your enjoyment. xo

I am passionate about literacy, from reading to writing. My undergrad was spent studying the likes of Shakespeare, Austen, and Milton, where I fell in love with gothic fiction. I delved into visual arts in my minor, which attracted me to digital photography and mixed media. I am a go-getter. I have a hundred projects on the go at one time. Last year, after reading 'Year of Yes' by Shonda Rhimes, I found myself becoming more and more extroverted, and I loved it! (I'm an introvert, through and through).

“Everyone’s got some greatness in them. You do. The girl over there does. That guy on the left has some. But in order to really mine it, you have to own it. You have to grab hold of it. You have to believe it.”
